1. Who we are

McFadden Utilities Limited ("we", "us", "our") is a family-run water utility and civil engineering contractor registered in England and Wales, company number 07712899, with a registered office at Central Martinfield Depot, Martinfield, Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, AL7 1GW.

2. What data we collect

We collect personal data in two situations:

When you fill in an enquiry form

If you fill in any contact or quote form on this website, we collect:

• Your name
• Your email address
• Your phone number (if provided)
• The service, machine, or topic you enquired about
• The message you typed
• The page you submitted from
• Your IP address and browser user-agent (for spam prevention)

When you browse the site

We use Google Analytics 4 (via Google Tag Manager) to understand how visitors use the site. If you have accepted cookies, we collect anonymised usage data including pages visited, time spent, device type, and approximate location (country / city level). If you have declined cookies, Google still receives aggregated, cookieless signals but cannot identify you.

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell your data. We share it only with the following categories of third party, and only where necessary:

• Google — for analytics (Google Analytics 4) and tag management (Google Tag Manager). Google may process this data outside the UK. Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and the UK Extension to that framework.
• Our hosting provider (SiteGround) — the website runs on their servers, which means they technically process your data in transit. SiteGround servers are located in the EU / UK.
• Our email provider — enquiry emails are delivered to our team via our mail infrastructure.

We do not share enquiry data with advertising networks, data brokers, or any third party not listed above.

5. How long we keep it

• Enquiry form submissions: retained for 24 months from the date of submission, after which they are deleted. If your enquiry turns into a project, we may keep relevant data for longer as part of our ongoing commercial relationship.
• Analytics data: retained by Google for the default period set in our Google Analytics property (currently 14 months). Aggregated reports may be retained longer.
• Cookie consent choice: stored in your browser for 12 months, then you will be asked again.

6. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Rectify inaccurate or incomplete data
• Erase your data ("right to be forgotten") in certain circumstances
• Restrict or object to processing
• Data portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
